If you experience sudden fever (typically 102°F or higher), vomiting, diarrhea, fainting or near fainting when standing up, dizziness, or a rash resembling a sunburn, remove the tampon immediately, discontinue use, and seek medical attention.

Scientific studies have concluded that tampons can contribute to the development of TSS, particularly in women under 30 years old and teenage girls. The estimated incidence of TSS is between 1 and 17 cases per 100,000 menstruating women and girls per year. To reduce the risk of TSS, it is recommended to alternate between tampons and feminine pads during your menstrual period. If you are concerned about TSS, consider using pads instead.
